My children are living in my home country – can I still include them in my tax return?

In case you are considered non-resident and your children were living in any other EU/EEA state while you were working in Belgium you can still claim additional tax credits for them. All you need to do is provide copy of their birth certificate. If your children are 18 or become 18 years old in the year of employment and are students, you can still include them in your tax return by providing college letters for them.

In case you are considered resident for tax purposes your children need to reside with you in Belgium in order to be included in your tax return.
