The Zone Tax Offset is a tax concession introduced by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for people who live and work in remote areas of Australia. To qualify for this, you must have lived or worked in a remote area for 183 days (not necessarily consecutively) in the same financial year, or continuously within two financial years.

As many oil rigs, mines, and gas fields are based in remote parts of Australia, you may be able to avail of this relief.
