I am a non-resident for tax purposes. Do I have to pay a Medicare levy?

Non-residents in Australia are exempt from paying this levy.

If you’re exempt from paying the Medicare levy, it may still be deducted from your wages. If this is the case, or you pay the levy and it turns out that you’re exempt, you can claim this money back!
